Topshelf ARTistry by NiSi was born in 2020, during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic. With extra time on my hands after being laid off from March through December of that year, I turned to painting and writing poetry as a therapeutic outlet. It became a way to process emotions when I felt isolated and to connect with others, letting them know they weren’t alone.
Since then, my journey as an artist has grown in ways I could never have imagined. My work has been shared nationally through social media and featured on outlets like Fox News and Newsmax, thanks to the incredible support of Democratic Strategist Sarah Norman. The overwhelming encouragement from friends, family, and even strangers has fueled my growth and passion for self-expression.
It’s been incredible to evolve from creating small 4×4-inch paintings to tackling canvases taller than I am (and I’m only 4’10”!). Each piece is a reflection of my journey and a reminder of the power of creativity to heal and inspire.
