NiSi is a Greensboro, North Carolina based Bridal & Pageant Makeup Artist who creates art and poetry that is stimulating and bold. Influenced by her love of the various shades of melanin in her clients she’s touched as a MUA and positive images of black women; she works to bring her skill with brush strokes together with her imagination to create work that empowers viewers and future clients. Educated in Theatre Arts and Creative Writing, she has worked years to create art and poetry that encourages viewers and readers to look more deeply into giving themselves permission to love themselves as is, by using acrylic paint and beauty products in ways that are eccentric and believable. When not creating art, slaying faces, or writing poetry; NiSi can be found binging her favorite shows and relaxing at the lake. NiSi lives in Greensboro with her son Bryson.

FUN FACT: Being a Bridal Makeup Artist wasn't my dream as a child. Throughout high school, I collected Hype Hair & Sophisticate's Black Hair magazines. I thought I'd be a platform artist at Bronner Bros. Hair shows. I quickly learned that being a hairstylist wasn't my path. What is meant for me, is for me.

"NiSi is extremely kind and professional! She came to my house to do makeup for graduation pictures. She listened to what I wanted and I absolutely loved the look she gave me! The makeup lasted all day (even through the heat of the day during photos outside for 1.5 hours). She has lots of makeup colors to match your skin and she brought a comfortable makeup chair along with her own lighting. That definitely helped as I was worried the room in my house wasn’t light enough - turned out I had nothing to worry about! She was well prepared. The makeup looked flawless in the photos and I am very grateful for her help and talent, as I will cherish these photos forever! Topshelf ARTistry by NiSi was born in 2020, during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic. With extra time on my hands after being laid off from March through December of that year, I turned to painting and writing poetry as a therapeutic outlet. It became a way to process emotions when I felt isolated and to connect with others, letting them know they weren’t alone. Since then, my journey as an artist has grown in ways I could never have imagined. My work has been shared nationally through social media and featured on outlets like Fox News and Newsmax, thanks to the incredible support of Democratic Strategist Sarah Norman. The overwhelming encouragement from friends, family, and even strangers has fueled my growth and passion for self-expression. It’s been incredible to evolve from creating small 4x4-inch paintings to tackling canvases taller than I am (and I’m only 4’10”!). Each piece is a reflection of my journey and a reminder of the power of creativity to heal and inspire.
